July 23rd: Sand Mould Workshop at Midwest Fire Fest
July 23th, 2016
11am - 1pm
At Westside Park, Downtown Cambridge, WI
Join Felion studios outside under a tent at the beautiful Westside Park in downtown Cambridge, Wisconsin, to carve your sand mould in preparation for the Midwest Fire Fest Community Iron Pour later that day, (July 23rd 2016!).
A variety of square, star and heart-shaped sand moulds and tools etc will all be provided and included in the workshop fee for this session. The FeLion crew will be on hand to teach attendees the basic rules and techniques for carving into sand moulds. We will walk through a few examples and ideas that will stir your imagination and help you make a unique design to get it cast in iron. While we're carving, we can talk about all of your curiosities with iron pouring and what else will be happening at the event this year !
The sand moulds created in this workshop will be poured at the 2016 Midwest Fire Fest on Saturday July 23rd, between 5-9 pm. We hope you can join us on site during the event to see your carved heart poured out in molten iron. If you are unable to attend the July 23rd event date, never fear. You can still signup for the sand mould carving workshop to carve your mould and collect your finished iron creation at the Cambridge Woodfired Pottery, or FeLion Studios headquarters the following week. If you have questions before registering for the event, feel free to email Alisa of FeLion Studios for more event info here: Alisa@FeLionStudios.com .
The Midwest Fire Fest Iron Pour is Free & Open to public for spectating. Enjoy the surrounding fun with music, beer, food, and of course, a ton of metal... literally 2,000 lbs,.. poured that day!
