Come to the studio to learn how to transform an idea into a cast iron masterpiece using cookie cutters & oil clay! Open studio means you can come anytime within the workshop hours to work with non-toxic plasticine clay and model a unique creation that we will pour with molten metal at the Midwest Fire Fest on July 27th, in Cambridge WI. All supplies included. Taught by Alisa and her team of experienced assistants. Sign up in advance to hold your spot.
Sand Mold Carving Workshop

Join us outside in beautiful Cambridge Wisconsin, on the property of the inspired Cambridge Wood Fired Pottery studio, to work out your designs onto blank sand molds in preparation for the 2019 Midwest Fire Fest iron pour.

This class is not for the faint of heart.
Take your cast iron sculpture game to a new level this year by starting in oil clay and ending with an incredibly detailed relief sculpture made in iron at Midwest Fire Fest. We will deep-dive into the sand mold making process by letting you mix and pack your own sand mold around the clay creation you make during the first part of the day. Get your hands dirty and be prepared to get inspired by making something unimaginably unique from your own hands.

If you are more DIY and need to be flexible with your work time, come to the studio to pickup a blank, pre-made sand mold to take home and work on at your leisure. Molds are square or star shaped. Instructions to carve found on our Tips & Tricks page. Bring back your finished carved mold to the Midwest Fire Fest event on July 27th, or drop back off at FeLion Studios on same dates for pickup.
