2017 Adult Swim : Heart Mould Carving

  • Madison Childrens Museum 100 North Hamilton Street Madison, WI, 53703 United States (map)

About:

There will be two, 1-hour workshops at the Madison Children's Museum during the Friday Adult Swim event, where there will be blank sand moulds in various shapes available to attendees for carving their own designs into with the tools provided by the the FeLion Studios crew; Alisa & Andrew.

They will both be on hand to teach attendees the basic rules and techniques for carving into sand moulds and making lasting impressions that will later be cast in molten iron at the community iron pour on February 11th.

We will walk through a few examples and ideas that will stir your imagination and help you make a unique design to get it cast in iron at this year's Pour'n Yer Heart Out community iron pour!  While we're carving, we can talk about all of your curiosities with iron pouring and what else will be happening at the event this year.

End Result:

The sand moulds created in these workshops will all be poured at the 2017 Iron Pour on February 11th from noon-4pm, hosted by Sector 67 at 2100 Winnebago Street, Madison.

Join us on site the day of the event to see your carved heart poured out in molten iron. If you are unable to attend the Feb. 11th date, never fear. You can still sign up for the Adult Swim workshop to carve your mould and collect your finished iron heart at Sector67 the following week.

Feb 11th Iron Pour is Free & Open to public for spectating. Enjoy the fun with music, beer, food and of course, a ton of metal... literally 2,000 lbs,.. poured that day!
