About:
The 10th annual Pour'n Yer Heart Out community iron pour event is a spectacular community gathering where the public meets the FeLion metal casting process through an engaging all day demonstration of backyard foundry arts inside a lively party atmosphere. The FeLion iron tribe offers a unique opportunity for anyone to make a custom piece of cast iron art via workshops leading up to the event and on the day-of the pour.
Visitors, artists, students and professionals of all backgrounds come together with the common goal of creating hundreds of unique art works that are made by hand and cast in the spectacular medium of molten metal during the coldest time of year.
Participants vary from people as young as 5 years old to 90 years old, experienced artists and complete novices from entirely non-artistic backgrounds. The results of finished iron castings are distinctively creative, with a dynamic range of talents exhibiting lessons learned from the process, and a new found excitement for the ability to make something that will last longer than their lifetime.
Our Workshops: Get Social & make something awesome
For those adventurous people out there, we offer several opportunities to create your sand molds amongst a group of fellow workshop enthusiasts of varying skill levels. There are three sand mould making workshops leading up to the event where you can bounce ideas off of the FeLion team, get inspired by other participants, and socialize while you make something incredibly unique with your hands. For those who aren't the workshop type, we also have a variety of different pre-shaped sand mold blanks that you can purchase, pick up and work on at your leisure anytime before the day of the pour. Scope out the options and place your order for these hot little items.
