We’re heading back to Decatur, Indiana again this summer for the 2nd annual Hoosier Pattern Pour, Friday evening, June 7, 2024 at at Hoosier Pattern Inc.
FeLion will lead another scratch mold workshop just before participants can bring their new creations out to the pour floor to watch us cast molten iron into it!.
What’s so groovy about this pour is that the scratch tiles are made using 3D printed sand mold technology for a super unique finished casting to take home after the pour. The iron pour will start in the daylight and end with the spectacular contrast of bright sparks and flames to light up the night.
On Saturday, head downtown for the annual Sculpture Tour, with life-sized public art pieces lining the streets and artists visiting in from all over the country to exhibit their works. Pieces cast from the iron pour the night before will be on display down town, alongside all of the professional artsits works.
It’s a weekend filled with family-friendly action, tons of hands on opportunities to make and see sculpture, enjoy an array of food trucks, kids hands-on activities, drone footage at the pour and and up-close opportunity to watch molten metal pour into everyone’s molds on Friday night.
